What We Do

Turning surplus
into solutions.

Youth-led programs that recover food, empower communities, and create lasting change in our food systems.

01 Farm to Community

Gleaning Program

Rescuing surplus food from farms and businesses before it goes to waste.

Our gleaning program works directly with farms, grocery stores, restaurants, and food distributors to rescue perfectly good food that would otherwise be wasted. Youth volunteers coordinate pickups, sort and prepare food for distribution, and ensure it reaches families in need.

We've built strong relationships with over 20 partner farms and organizations, creating a reliable network that diverts thousands of pounds of food from landfills every month. Each recovery operation is an opportunity for youth to learn about food systems, develop logistics skills, and see the direct impact of their work.

Through this program, we're not just addressing food waste — we're teaching young people about sustainable agriculture, food supply chains, and the importance of resource conservation.

"This program taught me that leadership starts with service. Every pound of food we recover represents a meal for someone in need."

Community Food Outreach Program

Bringing fresh, nutritious food directly to those who need it most.

In our community food outreach program, volunteers collaborate with local farms and organizations to rescue surplus produce and transform it into meaningful community impact. From organizing harvesting and weeding days at partner farms to safely preparing nutritious processed foods for local food shelters, volunteers play an active role in every stage of food recovery.

This program not only reduces food waste, but also empowers young people with leadership, teamwork, and real-world skills while supporting food security in their communities.

"Delivering food isn't just about logistics — it's about seeing the smile on someone's face when you bring them fresh produce. That connection is everything."

Youth Education Program

Teaching youth about food systems and empowering them to advocate for change.

Our Youth Education Program brings food systems education into schools and community spaces, teaching young people about the connections between food waste, food insecurity, and social justice. We train youth to become advocates for systemic change in their communities.

Through interactive workshops, school presentations, and community events, we help students understand where their food comes from, why food waste matters, and how they can take action. Our curriculum covers topics from sustainable agriculture and nutrition to food policy and environmental justice.

Beyond education, we support youth in developing advocacy campaigns, meeting with local officials, and organizing community events — creating a pipeline of informed, engaged young leaders.
